30-Hour OSHA Construction Training: TR - 004
Course Length: 30 Hours
This is a thirty hour program intended to provide a comprehensive overview of OSHA standards applicable to the construction industry. This program provides a full overview of OSHA standards for construction. The program includes core elements and optional topics allowing you to customize the message to your specific training needs.
Required Course Topics:
- Introduction to the OSHA Act -2 hours
- The OSH Act, General Duty Clause, employer and employee rights and responsibilities, whistleblower rights, basic recordkeeping
- Inspections, citations and penalties
- General safety and health provisions, competent person, Subpart C
- Value of safety and health
- OSHA website and available resources
- OSHA 800 number
- OSHA focus on four hazards – 5 hours
- Fall protection, Subpart M
- Electrical, Subpart K
- Struck by (e.g., falling objects, trucks and cranes)
- Caught in/between (e.g., trench hazards, equipment)
- Personal protective and lifesaving equipment – 2 hours
- Subpart E
- Health hazards in construction – 2 hours
- Hazcom and silica
- Stairways and ladders – 1 hour
- Subpart X
Elective/Selected Topics:
- STD 3-1.1 “Clarification of citation policy regarding 29 CFR 1926.20, 29 CFR 1926.21 and related general safety and health provisions”; safety programs
- Fire protection and prevention

Prerequisites: None
Note: If participants have participated in an OSHA 10 hour construction class in the last six months, they may upgrade their training by only participating in the missing elements.
